Bi-fold doors use multiple connected panels that fold and stack neatly to one or both sides of an opening.
This allows a much larger proportion of the doorway to be opened than is possible with many conventional sliding configurations. When closed, the broad glazed panels continue to introduce natural light, preserve outdoor views and create a strong architectural feature.
MJ Architectural Windows & Doors manufactures, supplies and installs custom aluminium bi-fold doors throughout Adelaide and surrounding regions.

A bi-fold door can fundamentally change the relationship between adjoining areas.
Open the panels to connect a kitchen or living room with a patio, garden or entertaining area. Close them to restore separation while retaining natural light and views through the glazing.
Bi-fold doors can also be used inside a building to create flexible zones that can be opened for larger gatherings or closed when more defined spaces are preferred.

With the panels folded to the side, bi-fold doors can open a substantial proportion of the doorway, creating a generous connection between spaces.
Quality stainless-steel rollers, carriers, hinges and adjustable components support controlled movement and reliable alignment across the opening.
The connected panels fold against one another rather than remaining across the glazed opening.
Large glazed panels allow daylight to reach deeper into the interior and maintain a visual connection with outdoor areas while the doors are closed.
Panel numbers, opening directions and stacking positions can be tailored to the dimensions and use of the space, subject to the selected system’s capabilities.
A bi-fold door consists of multiple hinged panels that move along a track and fold together as the opening is cleared. The panels can stack to one side or divide between both sides, depending on the configuration.
Bi-fold doors can open a large proportion of the doorway because the panels fold and collect at the sides. The exact clear opening depends on the number and width of panels, stacking direction and selected system.
Selected systems can be configured to stack internally or externally. The appropriate direction depends on available space, weather exposure, furniture, floor levels and the building design.
